I knew a guy who put a bike-brand sticker on his helmet everytime he got another bike, and he would buy one and sell one every year. His helmet was covered in stickers. I thought about doing the same, but I'd never pay much to get fancy art on a helmet. Helmets just collect nicks, scratches, dings, scrapes, etc.

When the Exo 400 model was the current Scorpion, I almost bought the "Impact" style graphics. But, my wife said that buying a new helmet that looked like it had already been crashed was a little... morbid.

Can I revive this thread for a while ? I’d like to know if putting stickers or paint on helmets is really a problem, or whether such “don’t do” recomms are written by lawyers in lawyer county ? My last helmet (manual) explicitly warned against paint etc., saying it could impact its integrity.

Besides the the Shoei decals under the gel coat, or whatever, my helmet has 2 stickers from the factory. One is a made in Japan sticker and the other is a DOT sticker. Guess stickers aren’t that bad a thing. Plus I added a small HONDA sticker. Guess now I’m doomed

On the CB? What’s ABS? On the ST? Sticker gone.
Stickers only make helmets fall apart while you are riding down the road. Gas tanks don’t care

I peel off all those safety stickers on the tank, and used to do it in the car, too, but the newer ones aren't stickers at all, they seem to be molded into the sunshade. Back in the day, my son's brother-in-law did pinstriping and I tried to get him to stripe a black helmet I had, but it never happened. I used narrow white tape to outline it and it looked OK, but not perfect. For all you SoCal riders, there used to be a guy who did striping in the parking lot of Cook's Corner in Trabuco Cyn.
