If you could have a 1974 CB750, would you?

I've been under the weather most of the weekend, but finally carved out some productive time to wash both of the Hondas today. Having one old and one new works out quite nicely as I take turns commuting on both bikes. By making sure the Hawk GT gets its regular workouts, the fuel doesn't sit around in the float bowls too long and the tank (2.9 Gallons) is small enough that I'm regularly running fresh gas. Just the same, as I was cleaning the Hawk, I noticed that the aging rubber surround on the tachometer bezel needs replacement (which means that the Speedometer surround is going to need replacement is well). Do I really have to? No, probably not. Will I? Absolutely, provided I can still obtain them. Sigh. One more reason I appreciate having the freshly new CB1100.

We came at it from the other end, have a garage full of Vintage Honda's and when the came out we had to have one. Love them all.

I came from the same school Curt! Plus, with all the NASTY letters I wrote American Honda for not bringing the CB1100 sooner, I would have felt the Hypocrite! Big Grin

Bill,
I say go for it! I have four beauties in my two wheeled Harem and each has a special place in my Heart Once I got my CB175 and CB500 fully up to snuff cosmetically these last few years, upkeep has been fairly simple. I always take them out for a spin about once a week on nice days as well as take them on some group rides, cruise nghts and shows as the opportunites present themselves. The greatest reward is when folks who remember them new walk up, thier eyes light up with recogniton and fond memory as they recount thier story of having a similar bike back in the day Smile Again, if you have the funds, the space and the time to properly care for her, go for it!
