Foot Wear

I'm almost embarrassed to admit the riding shoes I wear right now, but the fact is a LOVE THEM more than any riding boot I've ever owned. They don't offer any real protection other than a nonslip sole and a small reflector on the heals.

I love them because they're not big, bulky motorcycle boots. I love them because I can wear them anywhere, all day, and no one knows they're riding shoes. I love them because they're comfortable and easy.

If I were a weekend warrior I would probably wear boots with more protection and I have in the past, but I commute to/from work daily and only drive my car if I absolutely have to. These shoes are perfect. Haters can hate.

My biggest problem is the shape of my feet. Normal width forefoot and narrow heels. I've been using the Dainese TRQ-Tour boots for the past couple of years and have been really happy with them.

I had not heard of these before. This is great ! The protection of my Torque boots but with a waterproof membrane and a more street able sole !

They didn't fit my feet as well as the Torque Out model did when I was trying the different models, but they do make for a really good all-around street boot and the waterproof aspect is the icing on the cake.

Gentlemen,

Right now CycleGear.com is having a sale on Bilt riding boots. Their boots are 95% as good as my Alpinestar Boots for 1/4 the money. I just bought an extra pair of these Hurricain Boots that are normally $159 for $79 dollars. Very comfortable and great protection.

I had to put a foot down while riding in sneakers once.
ONCE!
I wear boots, always. I have a pair of S&S at the moment but after a year in them I am not thrilled and am shopping.
But sneakers or driving shoes are NOT an option.

I picked up a pair of these "Sprint Racer Leather Motorcycle Boots" on sale at Cycle Gear in Redwood City on Saturday on my way down to pick up my new CB11 in Hollister.

So far they're very comfortable and seem to have good protection for a low boot (except shins, of course). They have grippy soles. Since we don't really have very cold weather in northern California and I don't plan on any rainy riding, these seemed like a good pair to start with for me. Also, they're so comfortable, I'd never not wear them and they're easy to walk around in whenever my ride happens to take me. It's too early to make any conclusions, but so far, so good.

I'm a big fan of the Sidi adventure boots but I have a dickens of a time shifting with them. Shifter is too small (size 42 EUR), so for now I'm back to my old Tourmasters. Looking to upgrade them though, Sidi's have spoiled me for protection. But hey, I can shift with them.
