In the mountains everyone, and I do mean everyone, waves. When I'm riding the Ural almost everyone waves and many give a thumbs up too. Once again, some Pirates ignore me - smart folks.

I always want to give the Pirates a bag of candy and compliment them on their outfit.

I have a husband and wife neighbors who each has their own late model indians, around a 2000 chief and scout that I ride with regularly, very cool bikes that I would love to own just because. They are around a lower fifty-ish years old, very good friends of mine, I ride with them to two harley bike nites a week, just to see all the pirates and posers for snits and giggles, watching the pirates pretend not to look at any one of my hondas that I might ride that nite is comical, my valkyrie has a cool bagger look and my chopper doesn't look like a honda and are unsure of what it might be, for some that "ain't" afraid to ask what it is, I tell them it an "ancient japanese secret", they hate being caught off guard like this, funny as "poo" I tell ya. They don't mind asking about the CB1100 cause curiosity is killin' the cat. Oh, I almost forgot what I was gonna tell ya, my neighbors like to dress like pirates and the wife with big bone body (not fat) and flowing dark almost black hair and make up, looks just like "I am not making this up I tell ya" Captain Jack (Johnny Dep) of Pirates of the Caribbean! Nothing against pirates, I was just trying to be humorous. We all have our own uniforms.
Checked out the Indian, especially the Scout, before returning to Honda. Just couldn't justify the considerable price difference at this point in my life. With the way used bike prices drop for the winter and the perceived disdain for Sportsters I'll probably end up with one soon to put a sidecar on as a winter project.

If I'm busy shifting or keeping an eye on a crazy cager who is paying attention to their phone I'll just nod my head to another rider but I don't ignore them, I'm out having fun enjoying the day and I hope they are too.

Waving is good.

4 Paws, I knew you was being humorous, so was I, I don't care to much for the new indians, the older ones are the ones I like, I don't have a problem with what people wear, some just try to hard. I'm cool with this, all in fun.....thumbs up

What miffs me are the riders who are so concerned about their personal safety that they contend "loud pipes save lives," yet they wouldn't think of wearing a helmet or proper riding gear.

The point of this topic was to simply ask if you get fewer waves when you're riding your CB1100 than when you're riding one of your other bikes. That's been my experience, even when I'm wearing the same gear, and I can't explain why. When I'm riding one of my BMW's, oncoming BMW riders give me a hearty wave. When I'm riding the Honda, nothing.

Not that I care one way or the other. I just think it's odd. I had no idea BMW riders were so arrogant!
