Please tell me that you didn't let the tires of your new beautiful CB1100 touch Bourbon Street...that street is so dirty and stinky.

Not Bourbon St....that's too touristy for me.
I go where the locals go, and park on Frenchman St...even dirtiier, w/ tons more puke!Clap

About this nifty duffel bag.....

Although I've had this bag for almost a yr, this is my 2nd , maybe 3rd, time using it. That's why it still looks new. Bought it initially to use for packing camping gear when I do dual sport rides.
I saw my riding buddies use duffel bags to carry their camp gear, so that's what I did. But I've since replaced old camping stuff w/ smaller, more compact camping equipment such that I can now carry - AND LOCK UP - all my camp stuff inside of my aluminum top case or side case. After investing so much on titanium, alum, down fill camping stuff, last thing I wanted was to see someone snatch my duffel bag off the bike unattended. So, that's my impetus for allowing this duffel bag to sit around collecting dust, until now.

Since its resurrection, however, I'm seeing one nice advantage with using it on the CB1100.
Mainly, it morphs, contracts/expands, into whatever shape is required at that time to haul your stuff. With it fully utilized, and strapped to the back seat, the duffel makes a nice back rest.

Duffel bag, now filled to capacity, hauling back 6 bottles of Pat O'Brien's Hurricane Mixers, two King Cakes, 3 jars of Muffaletta olive salad mix, and 3 bags of chickory coffee beans. The Hurricane mixes are for my son, who's a bartender while attending college. The olive oil salad spread and coffee beans are for my dear wife. The King cakes are for my teenage son, who's got this incredible sweet tooth. Me? that sweet CB1100~of course! Best present EVRRRRR!

Well, as with any road trip, the time to head back home comes all too quickly. I had been monitoring the weather throughout the week, and Sunday was the best day to get back on the interstate to head home. And Sunday didn't disappoint one bit as the temp was in the mid 50's deg. F, sunny, clear visibility for the 550 mile trip. I left New Orleans at 9:30am, and got to my house by 6:30pm.Traffic, all clear, with no accidents to screech interstate travel to a dead halt. 3 gas stops, ~150 mile range per tankful, 40 mpg average. $1.55/gal gas...life is GOOD!

Well, thanks for following me on this quasi-adventure. If any of you guys get a chance to do a Fly and Ride sale, you owe it to yourself to do so! There's no better way to get to know the bike. Then any decision to farkle it up, it's done with some degree of hard thoughts, not by the seat of your pants (or WALLET!)
