Look at my username and you'll understand that evidently the CB1100 WAS for me!

Left the house with a '73 CB350

The clutch fluid was dark from sitting so long and front brake fluid shady and they said they would replace it.
So they have me wait two hours because they had to go and get a gel battery. Of course while it sat for the wait the fluids weren't done so now I have to do it myself. Not a difficult task but something that should've happened during my wait.
I pointed it out but wanted to get home to try and beat the traffic. 2 1/2 hour ride there but 3 hours on the way back with rush hour traffic but not too bad on the return trip.
Going to do an Arrow slip on (no tune needed right?), R&G oil cooler cover, Honda chrome engine guards, some tank pads, RLET's to match the levers on the old 350, and the O2 sensor delete if it seems like it needs it.
Eventually I'll do the Lucas tail light, 2014 aluminum sprocket cover, and maybe have Corbin do a Chip Beck Spec seat.

Wow confused the heck out of me as we have another member CB4ME lol.

Anyhow congrats!

What is the Triumph in the background? Is that an original Bonnie?

Wow! You were still able to bag a brand new 2013 bike. Well done.

I saw that CB4ME as well!

Thanks!

Sorry in advance for the long read and threadjacking my own thread but the personal touches on that bike deserve an explanation.
It's a '72 Tiger 650 that my father bought new. First bike I ever sat on.
I had it built by a Triumph specialist to my design.
Me and Dad wanted to build it together into what you see here but I couldn't do it without him after he was killed by a left hand turning vehicle on a ride with me a week after I got back from my honeymoon in 2012 on "The Route" to and from my house. He didn't have a garage so his bike was kept in my garage up the road. "The Route" was created over the course of the last 4 or 5 years of his life when he got a second divorce and wanted my help in getting a sport bike like mine after not riding for many years. Through motorcycling together during that time our kinship was surpassed by our friendship and we laced the turns on those roads together and alone as much as we could.

The side panel typically says "Tiger 650" like this

I changed it

This is it with the cafe seat and lower bars that were bent by the shipping company that brought it from the builder's to my house.
I had higher bars put on it by the shop that did the repairs. Just replaced the bars and the broken thumb switches and housings. No other damage which seemed a miracle in itself.

These are the higher "Daytona" bars because the lower bars were just a bit too low for me. The bend from the shipping damage was minimal and from sitting on the bike before I got it to the shop for repairs I could tell the bars were too low. They were the look I wanted but I also wanted the best degree of comfort.
In this pic it's got the stock style seat Installed because I haven't gotten the time to put the cafe seat back on after bringing it to and from the shop that did the repairs.
Note the registration sticker that was carefully peeled off the front fork and cleared into the rear fender.

Fenders chopped and shaped.
Rearsets.
Raised edge 18 inch rims. The front is normally a 19 inch stock.
Smaller tail light and turn signals.
Engine has been rebuilt. It's bored a little, a Modern single carb for simplicity, and electronic ignition.
Basically brand new.
The choke lever will be back on the bar with no cable or function but I used to play with it when I was a kid.
Standalone, as a motorcycle without all the "dead dad" cuss, it's a really cool bike and I'm proud of the design that was in place while he was alive in some aspects. I was going to do the "Dad's 650" logo anyway.
I haven't even ridden it yet. I'm a little sketchy on squeezing the drum brake sufficiently after crashing this thing last Father's Day and dislocating my thumb that is now not as strong as it could be! Broke my ankle and bruised ribs too. I couldn't squeeze it hard enough to stop the bike on the ramps while unloading it by myself after getting the shipping damage repaired. Hahahaha! Crazy, huh!?

That bike is a very fitting and enduring tribute to your dad.

I do remember those conical front brakes need lots of squeeze, and people used to cut and weld an extension onto each of brake actuating arms for better leverage. Another way is to cheat might be a Moose Easy-Pull Clutch Lever System. It exchanges a little more lever travel for more cable pulling force, and i relatively cheap and easy to install (about $42).

I will definitely keep that in mind!
Still gotta see how the brake feels actually riding it but $50 is a cheap experiment on improveming braking power.

Tried registering and titling the bike yesterday and of course got the dreaded "I work for the DMV so I can have a horrible attitude and loudly talk to you like you're a child" attitude. 2 out of the 4 women working there were just nasty and rude and this was not the first time I've witnessed this type of behavior from them. If you have the slightest deviation from a normal, quick transaction they jump all over you.
I finally spoke much louder to them than they were to me.
"Listen! I just bought a motorcycle and want to title and register it! I understand you need certain documents in my case because of this dealer's move but that DOES NOT give you the right to speak to me this way. Does it? DOES IT!!! I asked you a question!" She was a little nicer then but now I understand why you can't carry a gun in the DMV even if with a CCW.
The bike had sat since 2013 and the dealer moved since then. In the move they changed name so title/Cert of origin had one name (similar but different) and a different dealer number than the bill of sale. So the dealer has to get two "reassignments" to me.
I understand rules and regulations but standing in line 3x at the busy end of the month after going back and forth with the dealer telling them the DMV needed a specific form/document filled out and then them trying to fax basically a letter that the DMV saying "we're this dealer now" was a complete waste of 4 hours.
Still waiting on the salesman to take care of this today when he said yesterday he would have it handled.
So now I can only look at the bike.
I will be going to another DMV once I get the proper documents further from my home just for the sole purpose of NOT having to see those female dogs at the other DMV again.
