Have you considered passing the hat around, so to speak, for the $400/year for PhotoBucket, so that your photo links work again? I'm sure you could get 20 of us to chip in $20 apiece.
Or, if you have no confidence in PhotoBucket surviving, then moving your photos somewhere else? I know that'd be a lot of work moving them, but I'd be willing to help.

Lol no I wouldn't ask anyone to chip in, and I won't pay Photobuckets exorbitant ransom. Remember it's a YEARLY fee. Next year they will want $400 more. I may one of these days start downloading photos to imgur and start fixing some threads, but will have to priortize which ones to move over. The How Tos are probably most important I'm guessing.

Well, if there is any way I can help let me know. I have plenty of time on my hands these days.

I haven't investigated this, but, if the photos for, say a how-to, were in an album, you may be able to link to the album so people who wanted to look at the pictures could at least view that album.

I agree, the thought was nice, but "ransom" is a good word. I don't know how they think people would pay that much to store photos

I'm going to have a go at Imgur and see how that goes.
I'll do a test run later so forgive me if I mess up.

Ferret, I was going to post this in the Idle Speed thread, but there is a lot of activity over there right now. I wanted to thank you for all the work you're doing to aggregate a large set of messy data on our bikes. Between this, your regular moderator work, and the Photobucket/Imgur switch, you've certainly got your hands full and then some.
I know this kind of work is above and beyond the call of duty here. I used to moderate a forum on driving and learning stickshift, and it took up a large portion of my free time.
Thank you.
