During the process of trading my CB1100 for a new Honda my salesman keeps telling me about the negative comments the Sales Manager is making about the CB. "They don't sell", "Honda is still trying to give them away", etc, etc, etc... Some time after the trade I go back to that same dealership and my CB is no longer among the used inventory. So I ask a salesman if it was sold and who bought it. You guessed it The Sales Manager bought it! Actually I can't blame him, it is a nice bike.

I traded the CB for a 2017 Africa Twin DCT. My long term plan is to buy/try a variety of motorcycles while I still have enough strength-balance to ride them. So two months after buying the Africa Twin I also purchased a Yamaha FZ-07. The Honda CB850F was actually my first choice but I became confident that the Yamaha would be easier to sell later. It is a very popular bike. The FZ07 weighs in a 403 pounds for the ABS version. It is a real play toy and is very different than the Africa Twin. Before I purchased the Yamaha I had vision of learning to do some wheelies but I quickly dropped such non-sense (thankfully).
Once I am done playing around and trying different machines (or when I run out of money) I hope to purchase another CB1100 as my final bike. So for now I really have two good motor cycles.
Thanks for asking

The CB will do wheelies quite easily.

I'm looking at trading in a bike for a new RS. The sales manager has given me all this stuff about how my bike is 'hard to sell, it's a bit specialist, it's Italian so it must be unreliable' etc etc. The bike is a peach and has been completely reliable, and I don't take kindly to my beloved v711 special being knocked down. he's just trying to cut the trade in price.
So - I'll keep the v7 as a 2nd bike, and buy the RS from a different dealer. hopefully next week!

V7's don't get much love on this side of the pond either. Lovely bike. It's a shame.
