Does anyone have any experience with this company?

I need a new leather jacket as my old one is a bit too big since I dropped a few lbs. if you apply the discount these jackets get pretty cheap!

They used to have stores in many of the malls in Michigan where I live. They were always an economical way to buy leather and I have owned a couple of their products. I thought they were pretty durable (but I was not riding on a bike with them then). I went to your link and the $480 coat goes to the check out as $192. That does seem like a pretty good discount and a pretty good price for what that company sells but that's just my opinion on it. It's not a motorcycle jacket since it does not accommodate pads for the joints. Someone (perhap you) had posted a t-shirt of some sort with those pads built into them. I suppose you could wear that underneath if you wanted that protection to go along with it.

High prices for jackets with no armour or padding. Try shopping around at your local motorcycle stores and check a few online places. Would really prefer you get a jacket that offers some protection.

My company gave us jackets from Wilson, we chose what we wanted. Decent quality but not for actually riding a bike.

I've owned a few jackets over the years, but never used em for riding. Leather trench coat, blazer etc. I've always had motorcycle specific gear for riding

The stuff is decent quality, might last a single spill, but I'd worry about the liner. one of the reason I initially wore actual motorcycle gear was that "fashion" based gear has cheaper polyester lining to save on cost.. so if you wind up sliding along the ground (I hope not) if the leather gets worn away from friction, the cheap lining can melt and stick to scrapes etc (ex wife was an ER nurse and saw interesting crap in wounds)..

Id hit up newenough.com (which has a new name like motorcyclegear), motorcycleleatherexchange, or motorcycle-closeouts, and see if you can't get something stylish, but also purpose based.. Over the last 20 years, I've picked up stuff from all 3 at one time or another.. The styles might be a year or two old, but the savings are usually pretty good..

That's a handsome jacket, but not good for protection, unfortunately. Thickness, padding and armor, and very important in a crash, stitching, are what makes motorcycle specific jackets the right thing to be wearing if things get messy. It's also what makes them cost more.

Still, there are usually plenty of bargains to be had on quality gear if you're willing to scour Craigslist. My two piece A* track day leathers were picked up 3 years ago for $200, and continue to serve me well.

They're hardly the latest style, but they're very thick leather with reinforced stitching and extra protection in all the right places.

And careful shopping and $175 got me a new $500 leather jacket for the cooler months that has really kept me warm on cold early morning rides in the mountains.

Bottom line is there are lots of options for you to choose from, and plenty of ways to save money and stay well protected.
