So you think you can ride fast and far?!

Sheesh, I thought my 1000+ mile days were impressive. This guy did 2,829 miles in 38 hours and 49 minutes, including gas and restroom stops. This guy must have been screaming along to average 73 mph!

Setting records such as your 1,000 mile days and this gents' mileage victory are very impressive.

I'd probably sell my bike and never ride again after doing a ride like that.

As dull and boring as I'm sure I am, I'd rather set records for having the most enjoyable riding Journeys...

Agreed...Most of mile really long days have been when I wanted to connect point A to B in a hurry, not to sightsee or enjoy the ride. I've had much more enjoyable and memorable days riding less than 100 miles on my KTM in the national forest with some close friends than when I have spent 18 hours droning on the interstate listening to Pandora and chatting on the phone with friends!

"Reese completed the 2,829 mile trek from Los Angeles to New York City in just 38 hours, 49 minutes, beating George Egloff’s 1983 record of 42 hours by a considerable margin."

I think I'm more impressed with George Egloff's run. In 1983 the national speed limit was 55 mph.

Actually, both are pretty impressive. I've done a couple of 18 hr. long distance runs and I can honestly say I wasn't eager to get back on the bike for a week or two. Like EG, the only time I've done this is to get from point A to point B, as the last leg of a big road trip.
