The stainless steel can certainly be polished up to appear brilliant chrome. Of course, after the next ride they will be a perfect 8 or 10K gold hue.

Yeah, but once they're brilliant chrome, it just takes a little wipe after a few rides to go from gold back to chrome. Maybe I'm OCD...

hot tip for anybody looking to win at this: get yourself a bottle of Optiglanz. it's a scary caustic chemical but all you have to do is spritz it all over the pipes, let them sit a bit, then thoroughly flush with water and dry off. follow up with your favorite Mothers and Neverdul polish and you're in showroom condition right away.
