Good video and interesting to hear the comments about the cb1100...will it be a cult bike? Hang on to yours for 10 years, hope no more are imported to your area, and, who knows, seems to me it's got a decent chance.

I think so too. Collectible cars and motorcycles are often the first of their line, or the last.

Good video. I agreed with most of their choices but was surprised they omitted a few, including the R90S, the Hawk GT, and to a lesser extent, the first-gen SV650.

To me, among other attributes, a cult bike is a model that died on the showroom floor only to become highly collectible after its demise. The HD XRCR and GB500 are great examples.

Thanks for sharing this Stichill. In my opinion, one thing they missed out on when it comes to identifying a cult motorcycle is real staying power amongst a passionate fan (owners) base. If the CB1100 forum is still around and active without shrinking in terms of activity come 2023 then perhaps one could make an argument for it as a cult motorcycle. Even then it might be questionable. A decade of such fan base activity would seem to be the minimum to me. I say this because in the case of the CB1100 and others that are under consideration for cult status, without that kind of track record amongst the fans/owners, you are simply looking at motorcycles that not only didn't sell all that many units to begin with, but that also proved to be a flash-in-the-pan in terms of the interest they generated later on. None of this has anything to do with how good or bad the motorcycles they discussed actually are in real life use.
