Getting used to no fairing...
#1
After 20+ years on a Ninja with a small fairing, it seemed very odd at first on the CB11....actually I "think" I'm already to order a National Cycle Deflector as soon as they open Tuesday morning. But, just got back from an evening ride and am thinking maybe I should wait a few weeks to see how it grows on me......what do others do, fairing or not?

Both ways have their advantages. If you do a lot of riding above 55 or 60mph, a screen will reduce fatigue. If you do most of your riding at a leisurely pace on back roads, the openness of a naked bike is nice. A small screen will split the difference and may be your best bet. One thing for sure, at least for me, I don't like having to see through a screen to ride, even one slightly below normal eye level.

That NC Deflector may be the ticket but thoroughly check out the thread on screens. There are more than a few options available for this bike.

No screen ere until fall, then i'll probably order up a Plexifairing 2. In the summer I enjoy the wind.

I to was used to less wind buffeting having ridden a 2011 Boneville SE with a DART fly screen on the front. When I first rode the CB, wind at my chest was a bit disconcerting. I recently ordered and received a new Road Comet faring from Design Chic via Webike in Japan. The faring is a very high quality piece with perfect paint match. Just installed the faring this weekend and I have to say the ride is much more comfortable at speed not the mention I really like the look of the faring on the bike.

I love the unobstructed view and since I'm not planning on any long distance rides I want to keep mine naked. The wind force has been hardly noticeable at at speeds 70 or less.

After about a month of riding the CB11, I decided a small windshield would be nice. I used to take the Plexi 3 off of the CB750 in the summer and just ride naked, but I'd been thinking about a small summer shield for it too, as I spend a lot of time on the freeway at 75+.

I ended up buying two NC Deflectors, one for each bike. It does the job blocking the wind at highway speeds, but is still small and unobtrusive. I like it (them).

Agree on this.

I had put a set of low bars on but, after running them for a couple of weeks, changed back to the original OEM bars this last weekend.

Unlike other 'nakeds' I've owned, I really only noticed a very minimal difference at highway speeds between the two and, on the tighter, twisting backroads around here I missed the extra leverage of the originals. I usually ride with a tank bag also which changes the flow of air on most any bike, and in combination with the perfectly placed footpegs (for me anyway), I now can see that Honda knew better than me what dimensions the handlebars should be. Idea

Anyhow, I also want the option of adding a windshield and there was simply no room on the superbike bars for the mounting hardware of the National Cycle screens that I'm considering.

Fairing? I've never ridden a bike that has one, so I have no idea what I might be missing out on. That said, I am checking out the fairing threads.

The CB behaves well with no fairing. It rides better with a small Dart shield - up to maybe 120 km/h, but not more.
