I think i've seen a similar sign on the way to Licola and Dargo here in Gippsland.
Look forward to your Seat time reports, another gooden, however as an Carlton supporter I don't refer to that Black and White team in the AFL in any way in our house they are the Team that shall not be named.
I work with some blokes that also feel this way as well.
I know its a Victorian thing.
For the benefit of non-Australian members, I offer the following background to help you translate this cryptic post. I should offer a caveat: I have little interest in any football code and any opinions herein are informed only by heresay unless otherwise indicated.
Australia has no unifying football code. In the State of Victoria where noroomtomove lives, Australian Rules is the dominant game. The teams all collect nicknames: Carlton (which NRTM supports) are the Blues, Richmond are the Tigers. You get the idea.
The 'black and white team' is a reference to Collingwood also known as the Magpies. There is something about Collingwood that polarizes people in a way not enjoyed by any other teams. One might say, were one feeling provocative, that they are the Harley Davidson of football teams. I was going to say—hence the caveat—that it was a curious thing given the team's lack of success over more than a century. Then I did a little research and found that Collingwood has the second highest number of premierships and has appeared in more grand finals than any other team. So, informed by prejudice and heresay, I would have been wrong. Sorry NRTM. I understand that you feel deeply, but Collingwood's done okay for itself.
Merely for mentioning them here, it is quite likely noroomtomove will be precluded by the Collingwood Haters Code of Conduct from ever speaking to either Pterodactyl or I.
