Racks and Top Cases comparisons
#1

I've been looking into adding a rack and top case for trips and to act as a back rest for my fiancé. What is the better buy rack and top box wise Givi or Hepco & Becker? Seems you can get this setup for cheaper than the Corbin seat plus backrest. Looking for an easy on off option so I can take the case off when I am riding solo

Also if anyone has images of what it looks like installed i'd love to check it out!

I just put one on that I got from Samurider and I love it. It is the only top box that I have seen that actually has the backrest pad on it and it come with the Honda one key system. Basically it comes with a lock cylinder and all the pieces needed to key it to your key....nice Big Grin .

Since I changed the color of my tank and they didn't have it in but three colors (red, silver and black) I decided on the silver and I am very pleased as to the aesthetic I achieved with it.

The rack and box come as a kit and will fit both the STD or the DLX so there is no worries there.

Peruse this to check out a few pics of my bike.

Awesome! Is it an easy on and off? Also how long did it take to ship?

I received the faring and windscreen, rack and top box and the engine guards all in 4 days.
Very easy on and off. Unlock it and there is a lever you lift up on, tip it up and slide forward and you're done.

I have a Givi top box that I transferred from my previous bike. I had to buy another rack for the CB and went with a Daytona rack specifically for the topbox. I got it from japanwebike.com but last time I looked it wasn't available. Not a problem, though, as Givi has a universal mounting plate that you buy with the box.

I recall having to attached the backrest when I first bought the topbox, but I'm pretty sure it came standard in Australia. A member of the UK forum (he's also a member here) told me you had to buy the backrest separately in the US.

Finally, the Givi monolock system works really well. One turn of the key and you can open the box or just unclip it from the mounting plate.

With the Givi's, some come with the backrest, and some the backrest is avail. as an option that you install.
