Plasti-Dip on the side cover - Monkey Rider_imp - 05-24-2015 CB1100 already has near perfect styling IMO.. so I need nothing to add so far. Instead, I just spray plasti-dip on the side cover to make it a bit different looking. Purpose is leave the red color only on the fuel tank. (I did it on my car wheels -Wrangler JKU- and it stays strong over 4 years.) RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - Setchman_imp - 05-24-2015 I like it. I've only used Plasti-dip to coat tool handles but that certainly works, too. Neat! RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - andreas63_imp - 05-24-2015 Looks good RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - the Ferret - 05-25-2015 Man that looks good. Excellent job. I'd much rather have that personally than the factory silver covers. Quite impressive! Wait, that's a deluxe. I'd rather have the color matched side covers. However if I had a 2013, I'd be all over that. RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - username_imp - 05-25-2015 That looks good. It's funny how one change like that can make a big difference in the way a bike looks. RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - jchoby_imp - 05-25-2015 Hmm… I do not like my silver side covers. great idea that may be repeated RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - pekingduck - 05-25-2015 Looks great. Think I'll try that on my 2013. Hmm, wonder what the gearshift covper would look like painted silver? RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - ChipBeck_imp - 05-26-2015 That looks excellent! Did you mask the CB1100 logo or remove it and put it back on after spraying the plastic on? Chip RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - CBAnonymous_imp - 05-26-2015 I agree... Looks great. Might be next on my list! RE: Plasti-Dip on the side cover - Monkey Rider_imp - 05-26-2015 (05-26-2015, 12:38 AM)ChipBeck_imp Wrote: That looks excellent! Just spray all over the side cover, wait until fully dried, then carefully peel off the logo area. I used sticky side of masking tape to clean-up the left over plasti-dip in small area between letters. It was fairly easy job.
