RE: Latest accessories - Pterodactyl_imp - 06-12-2015 That looks good on a red tank. Tempting. RE: Latest accessories - treytexag_imp - 06-13-2015 Help me out on this one gents. Besides the aesthetic appeal to this accessory, does it have a function? Is it thought to provide some protection to the tank? If so, why is it so small? IOW's, why would Honda design and sell a "protective" accessory that only covers a small portion / area on the top of the tank? Sorry for such a basic question, but everytime I see this particular accessory, I wonder if it is aesthetics only --or-- it is believed to have protective qualities. What am I missing here guys? RE: Latest accessories - the Ferret - 06-13-2015 Most of the wear on a tank is where your belly/ jacket/ possible belt buckle hits the tank, right where those 2 lower pads are. while not 100% protective those pads will do a good job of protecting the tank while adding an aesthetic flare. I use a 5" or so square of clear static cling material in that area. Not very aesthetic but protective. You'd be surprised the marks on that clear sheeting that would have been on my tank. RE: Latest accessories - Novice_imp - 06-13-2015 I thought the wear there was just because I get so excited when riding and inadvertently rub against it. (Low brow I know, my mother would be horrified) RE: Latest accessories - Lord Popgun - 06-13-2015 (06-13-2015, 05:12 AM)Novice_imp Wrote: I thought the wear there was just because I get so excited when riding and inadvertently rub against it.
