Corbin seat will fit 2014 DLX - Houtman_imp - 06-06-2014

Brought my 2014 DLX home today and the first thing I did was to see if the Corbin seat from my 2013 fits.
YES it fits very well.
Close to the tank , it might be worth putting a protective 3m or Snyders paint guard on the part of the tank , close to were you sit.I do this any way to protect against zippers etc.

The seat from the 2014 DLX also fits the 2013 well.
I took the 2014 out today for the fist time on the DLX seat, seems better than the 2013 seat, a little softer , less sliding and it seems a little higher.
I still think that in the long run I will prefer the Corbin seat as it is a little wider and support in my back.
However I will leave the 2014 DLX stock seat on for a while to give it a fair try.

Having been out on my 2014 DLX and finding the stock seat a little better than the stock 2013 seat, I went ahead today and ordered a Corbin seat for my 2014.
Yes I could swap seats when taking the 2014 but I like each bike to have its own seat.
This time I made it clear to Corbin that I want a smooth back and no little flap to be able to install a back rest.
I never have a passenger,my wife did ride me 40 years ago a my Ducati 450 for about 200 yards and that was enough!
She will never stop me , just tells me "be careful", and I will because I want to ride again tomorrow.
I rather be called a safe rider than a fast rider.
The Corbin seats are wider than the stock, your weight is spread out over a bigger area , and I like the fact that you can sit back against the passenger seat.

So is the rider position taller, the same or shorter than the stock seat. It's next on the list but would like to know about the height.

I tried to measure them as I wanted to find out myself.
There is very little if any difference in height BUT:
On the stock seat I was sliding forward and it became lower, on the Corbin you can slide a little back and you sit a little higher.
I have had Corbins on 8 of my bikes and after 25 years on a CBX it still looked new.
Never had them in leather, always vinyl, they feel a little hard in the beginning but much more support.

So the one you ordered is basically like the Chip Beck version? Also, how long did Corbin say you had to wait for your 2014 DLX seat?
