No Soup for you - activedirt_imp - 10-14-2015 A dude from Florida traded this 2013 CB1100 with 12K miles into a local euro-cycle shop in Roanoke. In my view his modifications were well done. It was nice to get a close up view of a deluxe model and one that has been customized. So I spent some time sitting on this bike and looking over the Farces (at least six). I left with a very strong feeling that I was going to leave my Black Beauty just as it is. I liked the way it looked when I originally bought it and I still like the way it looks. So no mods for me, I like it Stong-Silent-Straightforward. [url=http://s651.photobucket.com/user/activedirt/media/IMG_0974_zpsukor8ftt.jpg.html]
RE: No Soup for you - Lord Popgun - 10-14-2015 The bike pictured is not a DLX. RE: No Soup for you - activedirt_imp - 10-14-2015 Hmmmm the motor is silver, I thought it was anyway. I went back to the original picture on my phone and it is just hard to tell. How else can you tell? Thanks for this info, so I suppose it has been modified MORE then I realized. RE: No Soup for you - Lord Popgun - 10-14-2015 DLX has dual mufflers and the bigger tank. Also different switch clusters and some other thins that Ferret or some others can tell you. Looks like a '13 to me. By The Ferret--Hope he doesn't mind me re-posting it differences between the 2013 std and 2014 dlx (in no particular order) 1 Silver motor vs black 2 Silver wheels vs black with silver edges 3 4 into 2 exhaust vs 4 into 1 4 Chrome waterfall head pipes vs snaky stainless head pipes 5 ABS standard 6 Taller, patterned seat vs plain 7 Polished master cylinder covers for clutch and front brake vs black 8 Chrome bar ends vs black 9 Polished top triple tree vs painted 10 Headlight raised an inch 11 Horns raised an inch 12 Smaller turn signals 13 Front sprocket cover now aluminum instead of plastic 14 Color matched side covers instead of silver 15 Side covers wrap around frame vs sotting inside of frame 16 4.6 fuel tank vs 3.9 17 New speedo limited to 120 mph 18 New instruments have different patterned faces 19 Digital gear indicator 20 Fuel computer that tells fuel used, ave mpg, fuel remaining 21 Passenger grab rails on a different angle to follow contour of new seat 22 Passenger grab rails polished 23 New left hand switch assy to match other 2014 Hondas ( I put a 13 switch back on mine) 24 Front forks take different amts of oil in each leg (for some reason but its new for 2014) 25 Rear axle size reduced (lower torque required for some reason but it's new for 14) 26 A little easier to do oil change if you want to count that lol 27 570 lbs wet dlx vs 540 lbs wet std ( due to ABS, larger fuel tank, 7/10 gallon more fuel, aluminum vs plastic sprocket cover, and extra exhaust pipe = 30 pounds weight difference) 28 6 speed transmission 29 DLX handlebars 1/2" taller The 2014 std gets the black treatment applied to the 2013 std, plus the 6 speed trans plus the dlx instruments, gear indicator and trip computer only with black faces. RE: No Soup for you - Randy B - 10-14-2015 That one is a 13 non ABS. The green gauges and 140 MPH speedo gives that way as well. Also the lack gear indicator....and....and....and.... I could go on, but you get the point. RE: No Soup for you - flynrider - 10-14-2015 The most obvious giveaway are the side panels. Red tank with silver side panels is a '13 thing. RE: No Soup for you - Headbanger02_imp - 10-14-2015 It's also a 2013, DLX'S are one year only 2014..... The one thing that surprised me was the handlebars are taller. Anyhow thanks. |
