Safety device - Papabear_imp - 11-25-2015

Sadly, on Saturday, I went one and my bike went the other. I was following another rider into a parking lot and applied front brake much too aggressively and off I went. It could have been much worse. I am on the mend, and the bike can be repaired fairly easily.
Here is what saved my bacon

Glad you are OK, and thank God for RLETS!

RE: Safety device - the Ferret - 11-25-2015

Wow, sorry for the pain you are suffering.

RE: Safety device - rbike_imp - 11-25-2015

Glad you are OK. Excuse my ignorance, how did the rlets save you?

Joke.

To my misfortune I lost my balance and dropped my 2000 VFR800 this week while going about 3 mph when my tires got locked onto a 2" high curb in a construction zone.

Bummer; one year only color, no replacement part available, and my painter says there's no way to color match the special Honda pearl yellow.

D'OH!

What did you break?

Papabear, Tink, I can say only that I'm sorry to hear your news; but I'm glad you're both OK.

How did the RLETS save you is the question, do a search for RLETS on the forum and you will find the answer, it has been said they have mystical properties but that depends how they are installed.
Just got home from an hour and a half in the rain with a setting sun arrived home just on dark o'clock. As I gave the bike a glance after taking the wet weather gear of the one thing they will not do is keep your bike clean.

Your ok and that's a good thing.
