RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - modmaster_imp - 01-29-2016 Rebel73. You and I have similar taste. I love every thing you have done on your bike. Especially the racing stripe motif. Truly beautiful. modmaster RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - Rebel73_imp - 01-29-2016 Thanks, modmaster! I had a vision of what this motorcycle could look like and it's almost there! RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - pdedse - 01-29-2016 Have to ask...any significance to the number 59? Nice job with the gaiters! RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - Frulk_imp - 01-29-2016 Rebel73, At 4,600 miles I'm needing to replace the original front tire. Was thinking of getting raised while letters for both the front and rear at the same time. How do you like those Bridgestones? RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - Rebel73_imp - 01-29-2016 The 59 Club is a motorcycle club which originated in England in 1959. It has become synonymous with cafe racers and the associated sub-culture. I am joining the newly formed Los Angeles section. There are thousands of members worldwide and the headquarters are in Lodon. ![]() [url=https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/59_Club]https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/59_Club (01-29-2016, 03:40 PM)Frulk_imp Wrote: Rebel73, At 4,600 miles I'm needing to replace the original front tire. I have no complaints about the Bridgestones, but will probably see what else is out there when the time comes. As for the letters, I did that myself with a silver oil based Sharpie. RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - the Ferret - 01-29-2016 Glad it helped Rebel. Bike looks great! RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - Nemo_imp - 01-29-2016 Rebel, Your bike looks AWESOME!! RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - redbirds_imp - 01-29-2016 Very original Rebel. Well done. RE: Fork gaiters installed - thanks Ferret! - the Ferret - 01-30-2016 As a side note I went back and edited the original How To this morning. Thanks to a suggestion by forum member White Dog I added a note about adding a cardboard wedge in between the brake pads after removing calipers to prevent accidental closing of the pads and making reinstallation easier. I normally do that and keep 1/2 dozen wedges on the side of my tool box just for that purpose, but was at my brothers house when we filmed the tute and I just didnt think of it at the time. Good idea especially for novices. |
