Heavy duty rear shocks, Progressive? - ryanschillinger_imp - 03-13-2016 I had a set of heavy duty Progressive rear shocks on my old shadow 1100 that made riding 2 up much better. I'm a big guy, so they didn't hurt the solo ride in my opinion either. My question is whether anyone has fit the progressive HD 13.5" 412 series to these bikes. 412-4215c is the part number I see. I saw the Ikon shocks listed also fit the old v65 Magna, and these progressive shocks are listed for that bike, but not our CB. I really liked the 412 with HD spring on the shadow and would think they should do well on this also. Anyone? I don't have the budget for custom Ohlins or anything like that. My bike is a 2014 standard. I have a rear rack and street shield ex on the way. Next purchase will be the sw motech engine guards and some kind of passenger backrest. Sounds like I might have to get a little creative in that department. Thanks! Ryan RE: Heavy duty rear shocks, Progressive? - TINK_imp - 04-05-2016 Just because these is not a web listing for the CB1100 by a shock mfr does not mean they don't have a shock that will fit the CB1100. Best to contact them directly and discuss your needs with them. In some cases a shock mfr may use your bike as their test-fit bike and actually give you the shocks for free just for your cooperation. I know of a friend that got a set of free shocks from Progressive for his new bike (I forget the year and model) that Progressive needed for test-fitting. http://www.progressivesuspension.com/c/bikes-wanted RE: Heavy duty rear shocks, Progressive? - ryanschillinger_imp - 04-05-2016 Good advice! The Ikons looks good though... Still worth a call or email to Progressive. I really liked their fork springs and rear shocks in another bike. RE: Heavy duty rear shocks, Progressive? - Ulvetanna_imp - 04-09-2016 Ikons are very good, especially for the reasonable cost. You could try Works Performance as well. Very close to you, in the San Fernando Valley, I think. RE: Heavy duty rear shocks, Progressive? - ryanschillinger_imp - 04-09-2016 Cool! Might be worth a little ride someday. RE: Heavy duty rear shocks, Progressive? - nhawk7504_imp - 04-14-2016 I got Ohlins from http://motorcyclemetal.com/ who custom made them for me. I had Progressives as well which were also good but my Ohlins are more adjustable. RE: Heavy duty rear shocks, Progressive? - ryanschillinger_imp - 04-14-2016 Which progressive shocks did you have? Did you like them better than the originals? |
