Wide Angle Mirrors - Chapomis_imp - 04-26-2016 Has anyone added wide angle mirrors ? Or seen [url=http://www.huntercreate.com/]these ? RE: Wide Angle Mirrors - emptysea - 04-27-2016 I have not. I have been waiting for someone to market the non-distorting wide-angle mirror that some professor developed. Of course, I first read about it about ten years ago and still nothing. I'll be following this thread to see what people have done. RE: Wide Angle Mirrors - c-breezy_imp - 04-28-2016 I didn't even know these existed, thanks! I might get one after I decide on a fairing. RE: Wide Angle Mirrors - kmoney_imp - 04-28-2016 Never seen the 180 viewing mirror before. My bar end mirrors (CRG Lanesplitters) are wide angle though, and once you get used to the different viewpoint you end up essentially having no blindspots. You can look down and see all behind you basically until 90° perpendicular to your head. RE: Wide Angle / Blind Spot Mirrors - Chapomis_imp - 04-28-2016 The only possible issue I had with the RiderScan was that if the sun was behind you its a lot of reflection dead center. The other options I found besides the circular type were: Maxi View http://www.maxiviewmirror.com/ Cipa http://www.carid.com/cipa/blind-spot-mirror-mpn-49805.html?gclid=CLiE6KbnrswCFYsmhgodDXkK5Q The Cipa's are only $9 each, might add those to my truck first to see how they work. RE: Wide Angle Mirrors - emptysea - 04-28-2016 This is of no use to your immediate needs, but this is the mirror to which I referred above. Some smart aftermarket parts manufacturer ought to take a look at this. http://drexel.edu/now/archive/2012/June/Drivers-Side-Mirror-With-No-Blind-Spot-Receives-US-Patent/ RE: Wide Angle Mirrors - Chapomis_imp - 04-29-2016 I found this company via the BMW forum, aircraft quality $250+ for 2 https://www.saeng.com/category.php?category=61 But I bought these to try $60 for 4 http://www.amazon.com/Hercules-Auxilary-Wide-Angle-Side-View-Mirror/dp/B000ALJYEW/ref=pd_sim_263_5?ie=UTF8&dpID=41A4C5TW2EL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=08FTGZ0H5P5VG8239TXA and http://www.amazon.com/MILLION-MaxiView-Worlds-Blind-Mirrors/dp/B0170J3DZ2/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1461959704&sr=1-1&keywords=maxi+view+blind+spot+mirrors RE: Wide Angle / Blind Spot Mirrors - NightRider_imp - 05-04-2016 (04-28-2016, 08:05 AM)Chapomis_imp Wrote: The only possible issue I had with the RiderScan was that if the sun was behind you its a lot of reflection dead center. Those maxiviewmirrors look promising. I find the standard mirrors good looking but limited in their ability to show me what is happening in my blind spot and even behind me. Wonder if anyone has installed them, with those two "stalks" I question how they mount, swivel on the bottom? |
