Rbike Mods - rbike_imp - 12-22-2015 I was going to post all of my mods (come to learn they are called Farkles - and I though this was a significant perma-grey group) when I finished, but the electric plug and 19/35 gearing won't be visible and I have posted bits and pieces already in multiple threads, so I will consolidate it here. Started in order with Battery Charger(not shown), then: Honda engine guards, Strada throttle grips, Omni Cruise, Mr T Honda Rear Rack, Puig Wind Screen. Engine guards & W/S here Strada Grips Rear Rack Omni Cruise (w/s too) Sort of everything OOPs almost forgot. I'll have to update when I install my RLETS. And one day luggage. Rbike Mods - Elipten_imp - 12-22-2015 What are the tank stickers still doing on the bike? LOL EXCUSE MEEEEEE - I didn't realize that was a requirement to be in the forum like RLETS - LOL. I have to deal with that now? I'm sure there is a thread on that item - another forum search. Just searched - I didn't know there were so many threads regarding these stickers. Its' significance is overwhelming. Do all of you remove them from your car's sun visor too? Rbike Mods - Elipten_imp - 12-22-2015 Yes there is a thread. But nothing like an oil thread or the RLETS thread. 2014 CB1100 DLX 2013 CB1100 Std 1990 BMW K75 RT RE: Rbike Mods - rbike_imp - 12-22-2015 (12-22-2015, 01:14 AM)Elipten_imp Wrote: Yes there is a thread. The small items that pass through the filter do re-suspend in the oil and any gunk on the bottom unsticks together allowing it to flow out vs staying stuck to the pan when cold. For Ferrett, I noticed you have the Omni Cruise too with a foam type grip installed. Did you find it was OK or did you cut back on your grip where the Omni sits? Will it compress over time and prevent the slow slip or should I cut that 1/3" out? If wait to remove them you will have paint matching problems where they were. If you take them off now you won't. And you can buy new ones. The are in the MARKS section of the fiche. Or, you can leave them if you like them. Some people do
RE: Rbike Mods - rbike_imp - 12-22-2015 Possible problem. They have been on for 2 years. I'll try 1 sticker when the sun is out again. We don't have to wait weeks or months in FL usually days at most - good & bad at times. RE: Rbike Mods - Lord Popgun - 12-22-2015 If its not bad, you can polish it out and the sun will blend it in. Sounds like you have a good plan though. RE: Rbike Mods - rbike_imp - 12-22-2015 I made it a mission to be able to take my newly installed ws out for a preliminary test ride. There is a wide open 70mph road only a mile from my house. On with the long pants (sorry to some experiencing winter-lol), shoes (not sandals) and helmet. I skipped the required leather coat - I don't go riding without it (that and a helmet saved me once) even in the FL temps. I took it up to 70 (or so - wink, wink) for a few miles and my upper body center area had no turbulence or wind pressure (as designed). Because I intentionally rode jacketless with only a t-shirt, the top of the t-shirt did vibrate some, but not bad at all. With a jacket, I would never even have noticed. Likewise with the outside t-shirt sleeves on my arms that were in the obvious somewhat reduced airflow even there from the ws. I briefly placed the palm of my hand out to see where the airflow was and the windscreen sent it above my helmet. For this model Puig ws (7693W) being as compact & narrow as it is with the top edge only being 8.5" above the ignition switch (that is only 1.75" above the brake and clutch reservoirs), I was very pleasantly surprised just how good it was compared to noting at all. I am always skeptical until it is proven factually (being a member of the perma-grey society). Puig makes many different models in all sizes & shapes and large fairings. I am glad with my initial research and the test results. For those that want bigger, I understand, but for me, this is a keeper! I really love its almost unseen size. It takes very little away from the CB1000's appeal and doesn't turn it into an R. Wasn't me. I run 719 Gel grips and no cruise. I had an omni cruise atone at one time for my ST 1300 which didn't work (it slipped) and I put it on the CB with the intention of trying it out, but ended up taking it off and returning it. That was in 2013. |
