My CB Project - Paul_imp - 02-21-2016

Hi there,

I have bought my CB in July and wanted to wait until 12 000 Km service to customize it to be sure of what I really want.
I only added the crash bars and the honda rear racK.

As this milestone is approaching rapidly, here is where I stand:

- K10 Chrome Front Fender

- Fork Bellows --> Kawasaki Fork Boots (49006-1335)

- Chrome gauge covers --> Still hesitate with a wind protection like the road comet fairing as I travel long distance for holidays but drastic change of look

- New seat for long distance rides but that costs a lot

- Chrome handlebar end weights

- A lower handlebar --> Don't like the genuine look of them but like the riding position and I am only 1,70m tall. Maybe Honda Handlebar Low type. Has anyone tested it ?

- New mirrors much lower --> I have no precise idea yet

- New oil cap in aluminium (I find the black plastic one ugly)

- An unique touch: I want to include an oil temperature gauge in the right side cover like the K0 side cover style but with a gauge instead of the fake oil cap. As I don't like the massive look of the K0 side cover I am considering a tailor-made cover on the exact model of the genuine one with that extra part for the gauge and the CB1100 four emblem. I do not have any clue yet where to put the oil temperature captor without messing with the ECU settings

All suggestions are most welcome Smile

I enjoyed your Youtube videos, Paul. Well done.

Paul, check out the classifieds section of the forum under members' products. There's a bloke who makes good looking oil caps.

On this board, it's generally believed that Kawasaki gaiters are if not the best, at least top of the line and hold up very well and long. Ferret can provide the part number.

OK, found it: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=4442&highlight=Kawasaki+gaiters

Thanks quietguy !

Cornamus, that's precisely what I m aiming to. Perfect

Popgun, I would be ordering one this week end Smile

I have asked Samurider for the fake oil cap side cover but they do not have an item of such sort. I think I will have to build it from fiberglass or find someone that can do it...

Have you got an idea how much shipping and custom could cost for the front fender K10 from Samurider ?

RE: My CB Project - Lord Popgun - 02-22-2016

The way Samurider works is, you email Mr. T with what you want. He will email back with a quote that covers the item(s) cost and shipping. If you agree, he will email an invoice where you pay on-line (pay pal, but you do not need an account). Then, if the stuff does not have to be built to order, you will get it in 2-4 days. Hard to believe, but it is fast. It is sent by air to the US.

The last thing I ordered was a Road Comet 1 with multiple windscreens. Can't remember how much shipping was, but wasn't bad.

Remember the time difference in Japan so you may only be able to get one email per day. Mr. T speaks excellent English so is very easy to work with.

It is best to email him directly and not use the get quote button by the items. Currently there seems to be a problem with that.

This is the direct email I use for Takashi: contact@samurider.com

11700km. The next service is approaching quickly and I will make some changes at that time.

I will probably order:

This for the tank:

And the fork below from the W650

I still hesitate for the handelbar and mirrors. I have seen this but this is more a cafe handelbar style. I would like to flatten the line of the CB though:

One thing is sure: Motorcycle make me a child again Smile

RE: My CB Project - Shinchan_imp - 07-26-2016

Any idea where to get that front fender? I can't seem to find it on Samurider site.
