Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - AndyHe_imp - 07-25-2016 My wife and I took a trip that last weekend up to one of the San Juan Islands in Washington state and she informed me that we need more luggage space. I've got the Honda rear rack and trunk for my deluxe but need to look for some saddle bags that work well with a passenger. Does anyone have any recommendations? Hard bags that match the style and look of the bike (similar to VFR Interceptor bags) would be great but I'm probably not going to find those. Soft bags that attached to the rack under the trunk would work.. -Andy RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - Lord Popgun - 07-25-2016 Hepco and Becker have some nice ones. Expensive though. A few members have them. http://www.motomachines.com/ RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - AndyHe_imp - 07-25-2016 Thanks for the info... yes, they look quite nice. Not quite as matched to the bike as the Interceptor bags but very nice nonetheless. RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - Lord Popgun - 07-25-2016 Givi makes some: http://www.giviusa.com/givi-products/cases/monokey-side So does Shad: http://shadusa.com/wp/archives/categories/side-cases Hopefully there are more options for hard cases. RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - AndyHe_imp - 07-25-2016 The Shad system sure looks nice but it doesn't look like they have brackets yet for the CB1100 for the SH36. They have brackets for the Africa Twin but not our bike? Sigh (yeah I know it's only top box and it probably was zero work for them). RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - Jonz_imp - 07-25-2016 I moved my rear turn signals back to the plate in order to fit saddlebags and Lesli. I just extended the wires ,after buying the right connecters, and attached them where the reflectors are. KennyW put up a "How To" that included some after market lights. Doing something like that makes the search for bags a little less restricted. We should get together for a ride some weekend soon. RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - 4 Paws_imp - 07-25-2016 I have bookmarked some at ventura mca dot com as some to consider in the future, hopefully I'll need them to ride to Arkansas. Haven't purchased so I can't recommend them. Fan of soft luggage, like the Gears Canada line for some reason; Giant Loop if budget isn't a major factor. RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - kennyw - 07-26-2016 I have a set of large bags that I ran after relocating the turn signals. They are expandable for longer trips. Otherwise, they are about the right size to carry my winter riding gear on the days where it gets warm later in the day. ![]()
RE: Looking for recommendations for saddle bags - Lambotte_imp - 07-27-2016 Check out the police panniers on Samurider.com. There is a thread with pics on this forum also. They look pretty nice. I wish there was a vintage krauser option but these are pretty close. Kevin 2013 Honda CB1100A |
