If you've been paying attention to the news, you know how important dash cameras have been to making the world more safe and more just (and more entertaining). I've been using a GoPro to protect myself, but I really wanted a "black box" system that begins recording as soon as I turn on the bike and turns off when the bike turns off. Now that I've got an accessory port (thanks InHouseBob!), I've set one up.

Rexing V1 ($99) - https://www.amazon.com/Rexing-Dashboard-Recorder-G-Sensor-Recording/dp/B00X528FNE

Accessory port (cigarette plug) with USB adapter.

Adhesive pad and mount on Chic Design Road Comet 1.

Slide/click dash cam in place.

Let's roll. Low profile.

How does the video look? The first time I mounted to my windscreen, the video was horrible due to vibration.

The results:

I later corrected the date, removed the date, removed the license plate stamp, updated the firmware, turned off the impact sensor (was locking/saving clips due to potholes), and turned on the screen saver (turns black after a minute).

If your headlight bleeds, you *will* see it.

But otherwise, low light performance seems decent.

I've covered up the gap between the light and fairing with some electrical tape. I first checked the rubber edging that came with the RC1, but it is not sufficient. Will probably use some black gaff tape later. Also, because wind moves the fairing, it will shake the footage some. I added a foam pad on either side of the instrument panels. We'll see if it helps. I know others have already done this to prevent contact, though that hasn't been an issue for me.

That's a decent one. I ordered an innovv K1 yesterday (http://www.innovv.com/#!the-k1/c3r6) online, direct from manufacturer, after my brother's bike was rear ended exactly 12 afters after purchase!

I use a Sena 10C on my Helmet. Have thought of keeping it on more and more just for my own protection vs just using it for MotoVlogging. In the event something were to happen, would like to have the footage for my records in the event i should need it!

On another forum I belong to a lady rider was intentiionally being harrassed by a cage driver until she was in a position to point to the camera on her helmet and the one on her handlebars.
Once the idiot saw that he was being recorded he disappeared in a hurry.

Well, this sure would have been nice to have last tuesday in my accident. I guess the video just loops unless something happens, then you disconnect and get it off of the device ??

It's great to have a dash cam. I've used the following on some of my bikes (not on by CB yet) as it mostly all can be hidden beneath the seats etc with only a small camera visible to deter thieves. Been working great for a year or more which seems good for a Chinese product. You can find it on Amazon here:

With the g-sensor (accelerometer?) off, yes, that is how it works. You can also press a button anytime to "lock" the currently recording clip, so it won't be overwritten.

With the g-sensor on, it will lock a clip if you are hit. But even on the lowest sensitivity, it was saving about half the clips due to potholes. Might be more effective in a car.

Will post a clip when available!
