NEW SEAT - NOT A "PAIN" IN THE BUTT - rozbabbo1100_imp - 08-17-2016 thought I would show off my new seat...5 weeks in the making and finally done. As everyone has stated I too found the stock CB1100 seat to be numbingly uncomfortable after about 60 miles. I rode to Vintage Motorcycle Days in Mid Ohio this past July from Buffalo NY and I can honestly say I was ready to set the bike on fire by the time I got there. I worked with a local auto upholstery and custom shop. Couldnt beat the estimate I got; way cheaper than Samurider after shipping. Took 4 times to get it perfect but im glad I went this route. I had the tailbone area carved out, gel inserted, memory foam, two other types of foam, hard foam to created a back support as well as custom stitched "pleather" which is way softer than the vinyl that was on there and it cost about $375.00 all said and done. so far I have gone on two separate 250 mile rides and not a hint of pain. I love the retro stitching and the over all look it gives the bike. super happy. Or, do you nest down into all the extra inches of foam?...kind of reminds me of how thick the new Ducati Scrambler seats look. It rolls me forward a smidge, but I nest enough into the seat to stay put comfortably. RE: NEW SEAT - NOT A "PAIN" IN THE BUTT - the Ferret - 08-17-2016 Looks pillowy
RE: NEW SEAT - NOT A "PAIN" IN THE BUTT - Lord Popgun - 08-17-2016 Looks Good! I like it. RE: NEW SEAT - NOT A "PAIN" IN THE BUTT - Papa Weeley_imp - 08-18-2016 Wow, certainly looks plush! Interesting shape, being wider at the base, narrowing up to the seating area. Good idea. Gives you more height to stretch out your legs when sitting, without making the reach to the ground any worse when you come to a stop. RE: NEW SEAT - NOT A "PAIN" IN THE BUTT - Rebel73_imp - 08-18-2016 I like a sleeker, more streamlined look, which is why I traded my '14 bread-loaf seat for a '13, but that certainly looks very comfy! |
