Drilled Side Cover - mininsx_imp - 03-27-2017 I've noticed pictures on the web of CB 1100 bikes with holes drilled into the right side cover. I'm assuming this is an airbox mod of some type. Does anyone know what they've done to their airbox? https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=S18flmMV&id=0B5D54C64769C9F42BC9870AEAC24CF3A95BE1F4&q=Honda+CB1100+Custom&simid=608039560895924171&selectedIndex=63&ajaxhist=0 RE: Drilled Side Cover - Capo - 03-27-2017 It's a styling exercise, nothing more. Drilled Side Cover - chync_imp - 03-27-2017 If you install the tsr air funnel then opening the side cover with air holes may further reduce the air resistance going into the air intake. Without that kind of mod it's purely decoration. I have the tsr air funnel installed and with the unmodified side cover on you can hear the air suction into the air filter. The difference in the amount of air that gets in through those holes is probably insignificant though in terms of power. But the air funnel makes a measurable difference.
