New Fairing - coliban_imp - 06-11-2017

Hello,

i´ve ordered a fairing from samuraider. They've been pretty fast, but unfortunately when it arrived at the custom in Hamburg, had no time to assemble because i was on my way to england two weeks ago, so i did it yesterday. On the pictures there is a rubber band around the top of the fairing i though it was nice but Takashi wrote that it is no necessary anymore. (Maybe because the edge is a little big thicker now so it doesn't act as a magnifying glass to burn the cockpit). Here are some pictures.

This small (Bikini) Version i like best because it is a compromise between wind-shelter, the mantling of the bike and the classic aesthetic so it doesn't hide too much of the classic style.

I think there is a reason why Honda does not offer a windshield, they wanted the purest look.

Samurider did a good job in not to cover too much so you do not see the beauty of this beauty.

One minimal disadvantage has the set from samuraider: they provide a 13 nut bolt. I purchased many tools and carry them with me but 13 is more european size, the japanese is 12, 14, and so on. So i have to take a 13 wrench additionally with me. Ok, that is only a minor problem, i am really satisfied with the windshield.

Looks good. American cars with metric hardware also use 13 and 15mm wrench flat bolts/nuts.

Looks great coliban! Thumbs Up

Does it offer any wind protection?

RE: New Fairing - coliban_imp - 06-11-2017

@Curlyjoe, drove it only until about 95 mph but i already recognized that it glides much smoother threw the wind than before. The helmet still is in the wind but when i lean forward i need much less power to stand against the wind. Of course it offers not as much protection as a bigger one but for me only this size and this make is sufficient for aesthetic reasons. I don´t want to hide that beautiful bike behind a wall of plastic.

I can vouch for this as well. It is beautiful and functional at the same time. Keeps all wind pressure off the chest, creates ZERO helmet buffeting, and if you feel like taking your CB1100 all the way up to it's speed limiter max, just tuck behind it and it's as smooth and quiet as can be. It's easily one of the best purchases I've made for my DLX. - KvdV

These farings are about the best add on for the bike as far as I'm concerned.

No doubt it looks great and I'm glad to hear there is some wind protection too. Thumbs Up
