Advice for removing emblems on side covers - misterprofessionality - 04-26-2018 So, I just got my first piece of genuine farkle today: and, of course, it's going to replace the standard "cb1100" emblems on the side covers of my bike. I've also got some nifty red diamonds coming, but that's later. Anybody have any experience carefully and effectively removing the existing emblems without damaging the side cover? I found some threads on the forum talking about applying new emblems but nothing about removing the old ones. RE: Advice for removing emblems on side covers - Mscb1100_imp - 04-26-2018 Fishing line or a steak knife work fine RE: Advice for removing emblems on side covers - B-rad G_imp - 04-26-2018 See this thread: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=10490&highlight=red+side+covers+finally Advice for removing emblems on side covers - mattmcuomo@yahoo.com - 04-26-2018 (04-26-2018, 04:21 AM)misterprofessionality_imp Wrote: So, I just got my first piece of genuine farkle today: Dental floss. If your side cover has any hazing/discoloration afterward, try Maguiars Ultimate Compound. RE: Advice for removing emblems on side covers - misterprofessionality - 04-26-2018 genius! thanks so much for the tips guys. I can't wait to add those extra 50 cc's to my bike :-p RE: Advice for removing emblems on side covers - Desert viper_imp - 04-26-2018 [attachment=7935]I left mine on, masked and painted them flat black, and used very small black Allen head bolts to install the new emblems. RE: Advice for removing emblems on side covers - misterprofessionality - 04-26-2018 ah, i see that. part of my goal in removing them though was to preserve them in storage. it's my goal to keep every part i remove from my bike in perfect condition stored away so that I can one day (20-30 years?) completely restore it to its original factory condition.
