Lowering bike ideas? I'm too short for my 2014 CB1100 - vallarinooo_imp - 05-02-2018

I'm 5'4 and too short for my CB currently.
I lowered the suspension and will get my seat shaved tomorrow.
Anyone else have had these issues??
Any ideas on what else I can do?

Not cheap- but Daytona makes a special boot with a taller sole for shorter riders-

Your height isn’t really the problem, it’s your inseam. What is that measurement?

Lowering the suspension will only get you so far. I have a KandH ‘Low’ seat from Samurider that has made a dramatic difference in my confidence in slow maneuvers and traffic stops. I hope you obtain similar results with having the stock saddle shaved. Please keep us informed as to how it works out.

You can also get the Japanese market OEM seat from Samurider for a couple hundred dollars. I originally bought it so I could put it on when the girlfriend wanted to ride it... but now I never take it off. Feels more sporty and compact. I think it's about an inch lower at least. Finally... I would highly recommend a pair of Daytona M Star GTX boots. These are GREAT riding boots that offer an inch rise in the soles that you would never notice looking at them. They are pricey but of great quality and will last for a very long time:

I think between the lower seat and the higher boots you should hopefully not have to modify the suspension which is expensive, time consuming and can adversely effect the bikes handling.

You can try going to a 60 on the rear, it will lower it down about half an inch.

5'4" w/ the CB1100 is tough, I assume you're at least tip-toeing it right? I almost did the Bonnie shock mod that Mechanix linked to but found that getting a pair of boots with taller heels along with the shaved seat allowed me to flat foot the CB. How is it now after getting your seat shaved?
