Another question about the spoke wheel conversion. - FLYTYM_imp - 05-11-2018 My apologies if this has been beat to death but now that the bike has been around for 5 years does anybody have anymore info on the wheel conversion as far as what year spoked hubs will bolt up to a 2014 Standard? I’m starting to round up parts and as far as what I can get from the info is 2017 has spoke wheels U.S. model bit is there an earlier model that also has spoke wheels that will bolt up to the 2014,I understand the rear brake caliper and hose needs to be used also from a spoke wheel bike. Thanks. RE: Another question about the spoke wheel conversion. - Aussieflyer - 05-14-2018 Not sure if there is a difference between 2014 and 2017 spoked wheel sets, all the previous information I provided (brake carrier etc.) was based on the 2014 model where my wheels came from. The other important factor is the axle ... the spoked wheel hub's axle is thinner than yours so you need to make a couple of sleeves to provide a snug fit for your new axle into the swing arm's chain adjuster blocks. Here's a link to my post of a few years back with some pics relevant to the spoked wheel conversion - you'll have to scroll down the page a bit. By the way, Aussieflyer, am I right that your wheels are the spoked wheels from the 2014 EX—sold in Japan and Europe but not in north America or Australia? |
