Identify this tail piece? - misterprofessionality - 06-02-2018

I've been considering a lot of tail/rear fender options for the future of my bike, and i keep coming back to the attached to this post. it's just the coolest/most ergonomic look i can find. Thing is, i Know this image is from samurider, and I know some of the other parts on the bike are from the "fugu" conversion kit, but I can't find this tail piece for sale on Samurider, leading me to believe it's something else entirely.

Can anybody positively ID it?

I’m thinking that was a one-off, but I’m not sure.

Why don’t you email Mr. T and ask?

what's mr t and what is his email ?

Takashi Takasi. He owns samurider. Everyone calls him Mr. T and he is good with that. Email is contact@samurider.com

He speaks English and his customer service is second to none. Just remember the time difference in Japan.

email sent ! hopefully it's something that can still be had. honestly, nothing else compares. the CB1100 R-type kit tail piece is not even close to being as attractive as this.

He will get back to you. I mispelled his last name. It is Takase.
Just wanted to correct that.

well, to put a lid on this, it looks like i can get that tail bit made again for approx 2700 American. comes with the tail light and (i assume?) the seat. Made with all Aluminmum. That likley does not include the black paint job I'd have to get for it Stateside. Good thing something like this isn't super important :-p. I'll circle back to this some time after i've done my fenders.
