Has anyone played around with lowering the brake pedal? - Olyrider - 03-17-2018

I can't find much adjustment in the retaining bolt to lower the pedal. My inseam is 34 inches so the angle of my foot on the peg means my toes are pointed further down than a rider with a shorter inseam. So I must keep my right foot in a "duck" position to avoid accidentally stepping on the brake pedal. Over and over. I'd rather not have to do this.

Has anyone found a way to get more adjustability than the small amount to be gained through the typical adjustment?

maybe try some calf muscle stretch........(try to hold only your toes on the pegs...my personal position if i do some cornering that i dont touch the ground with the shoetop....)

you use soft flexible boots ? or you have too such big shoesize ?

higher saddle bcos the ankle- kneeangle ?

Toes should be on the pegs, unless you need to brake or shift gears. That's the first thing they tell you on any riding course: it improves bike control and body control. And you won't press the brake pedal by mistake..

Oly,

I remember a thread a few years ago. No real answer was found. I think a member heated and bent the lever, but I’d to do some searching. I he mentioned maybe having to cut and reweld it but don’t recall if that happened.

I have adjustable height foot pegs. It would mean raising them which you might feel in the knees. But I agree with riding with your toes on the pegs.

I recall seeing on the forum that someone had their brake pedal lowered during a maintenance visit at their dealership. Can’t remember who it was. I too feel quite cramped down there, and I am interested in any options.

Interested in getting adjustable footrests. Can you provide details, where to get them, perhaps a photo?

Interested in getting adjustable footrests. Can you provide details, where to get them, perhaps a photo? I have constriction on my 72 year old knees on the CB1100 DLX as the footpegs are quite far back. I find changing gears also sore on the left ankle. Any ideas , besides getting another bike?
