RC2 fairing from Webike - Oldschool2_imp - 12-06-2018 Hi everyone, I’m new to the forum. I have a Candy Red 2013 Honda CB1100EX that I believe to be one of the sweetest bikes I have owned. I have had many different bikes and I find this one to be a real joy to ride. I have decided to do some up grades and wanted to mount the RC2 fairing to the bike. I contacted Webike to order a fairing for the 2014 they have listed only to be told the fairing will not fit my 2013 bike. I have done a lot of research, and can not find any real useful information concerning differences between the two years. I have found that the there are some difference in the instrument cluster, paint, and the 2014 is a six speed. When I look at pictures of the two bikes side by side. I can’t see why the fairing will not mount to the 2013. Can anyone out there help me with any information, has anyone installed this fairing on a 2013. Thanks in advance for all and any help you can provide. RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - the Ferret - 12-06-2018 I believe they raised the headlight, and put different headlight brackets/turn signal mount on the 14's. RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - Oldschool2_imp - 12-06-2018 I believe I saw a post showing a candy red 2013 with an RC1 on the bike. When I look at the pictures I have, everything concerning headlight and turn signals look the same. I wonder if the person had to make modifications to get it to fit? RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - Cormanus - 12-06-2018 Oldschool, first, welcome. Secondly, try contacting Takashi (or Mr T) at Samurider.com. I’ve not dealt with him but everyone here who has speaks highly of him. His English is, apparently, good and he will know whether you can get an RC2 for your 2013 CB1100. Edit: https://www.samurider.com/?p=17480 RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - PAULIBIKER_imp - 12-06-2018 Here's my 13........... RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - Oldschool2_imp - 12-06-2018 Thanks for the picture, did you have to do any mods to make it fit? If not, I wonder why when I ordered one for my 2013. Webike said it would not fit and had me cancel my order. Cormanus, thanks for the info. Went to the web site and filled out their quote form. RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - Lord Popgun - 12-06-2018 Do what Cormanus said and contact Mr. T You must buy the RC for a 2013 model. The RC fairings are not interchangeable between ‘13 and ‘14 because of what Ferret said. Be aware that the base RC is a solid color. If you want the stripe it costs more. Here is the link to the RC2 for a 2013 model: https://www.samurider.com/?p=17480 Not that this matters, but I have the RC1 in silver with no stripe and a tinted screen (costs more too) on my red ‘13. NOT cheap, but, buy once cry once ![]() To add: No modifications needed. It mounts in 3 places. On each side of the headlight You install some mounting spacers and then a little bracket that goes on the horn mount stud. One you do that you can then remove or re-install the RC in 5 minutes or less. I remove mine in the Fall and mount a Street Shield EX. And I don’t even remove the little bracket or mounting spacers. RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - Cormanus - 12-06-2018 Oldschool, there was no EX model for 2013. There is an ABS model and a non ABS model. If Paulibiker has an RC2 for his ‘13, the same fairing will fit your bike. RE: RC2 fairing from Webike - Oldschool2_imp - 12-06-2018 Thanks everyone, I contacted Samurider and I’m on the right track now. Thanks again everyone for your help and information. This is a great forum. |
