Aluminium side covers for 2014 - Houtman_imp - 07-04-2019
I kind of like the red side covers on the 2014 DLX but do not care for the black bottom part of it.
Mr. T shows the aluminium side covers made to fit the 2014 , does any has them on their 2014 ?

Today I received the 2017 side covers , modified to put on my 2014. The fit is ok but not great , the 2014 has shouldered bolts but the 2017 side covers have straight bolts and I had to use them or could have made the hole bigger if I wanted to use the 2014 bolts. They look nice but I wonder if it was worth $ 460 .

Wow that's a loot a money for a couple side covers. Then again I paid a couple hundred for a colored headlight bucket so who am I to say?

The promo video of the '17 CB1100 explicitly mentions these aluminum side covers as "hand polished", as an exhibit of Japanese craftsmanship... I guess you picked the only two parts on a CB that are handmade - with the accompanying price tag

The matching side covers I got from Mr. T. last year for my '14 weren't quite that much in Canadian dollars, but they were pricey.
The way I look at it, you only go around once, and if you can afford it, why not do or buy what pleases you.
The bike is so pleasing to my eye the cost of such things is soon forgotten in pride of ownership and satisfaction.

The 2017 aluminium side covers are hand polished by Geisha ladies , they are very nice but again not such a great fit for the DLX 2014 but than again I am fussy when it comes to looks (bikes and girls )

No , they will not fit , every year has a little different way of fitting the side covers.
