Anyone know what these bars are off? - ozigoo - 05-20-2020 When I purchased the bike it came with a spare set of bars, which were on the bike when the previouse owner bought it but he replaced them with originals. They look alot like the Type 2 low bars but I think they are even lower and the serrated center grippy bits look closer together than the originals and Type 2 low at 62mm clear space between the serrations. Also looks like an extra hole was drilled underneath to accomodate something that didnt line up. Any ideas? Do the serrated grippy bits on the Type 2 low, line up perfectly like the originals or is some showing? cheers RE: Anyone know what these bars are off? - mvk24_imp - 06-18-2020 (05-20-2020, 01:02 PM)ozigoo_imp Wrote: When I purchased the bike it came with a spare set of bars, which were on the bike when the previouse owner bought it but he replaced them with originals. Yes so I pulled roughly the same 1600 mile trip twice with the 2 different bars. The first time with stock bars I found all the fatigue to be in my butt falling asleep. The second time with just the lower cb500 bars all the fatigue was in my back. So now I'm hoping with the same cb500 bars but roughly an inch higher from the risers. Itll be a happy medium in fatigue. Mind you when I did the just the lower bars I had to rotate the brake line banjo bolt all the way around to make the angle work. But 2014 OEM cb500 handlebars are only 46$ on bikebandit.com Much cheaper than ordering type ll from Japan and they use the same internals as our bikes so their pre drilled already
RE: Anyone know what these bars are off? - Aussieflyer - 06-19-2020 a common aftermarket bar available that is similar to your description, especially the bit about the serrations being closer set, are 'Superbike' bars. Have a look at 'Thirdgear' bike accessories on line, they're a local shop here in Victoria. RE: Anyone know what these bars are off? - ozigoo - 07-01-2020 Found some bars locally off a CB900 Hornet that look like they will fit perfectly. The serations line up and there alot lower than the CB1100 but not quite as low as the ones above. They are almost identical to the Type 2. They came with weights which I was after, the bars were a bonus..Il post some pics when I remove mine RE: Anyone know what these bars are off? - mvk24_imp - 07-01-2020 (07-01-2020, 11:16 AM)ozigoo_imp Wrote: Found some bars locally off a CB900 Hornet that look like they will fit perfectly. Thinking about filling the bars with sand instead of pulling the anti vibration system out of the inside of the stock bars. Looks like a pain in the a** to remove those and bend the clips accidentally Sent from my SM-G965U1 using Tapatalk |
