Color Matched Trunk Box - will866_imp - 02-26-2018
Has anyone purchased the red trunk box from samurider?

Mr. T has advised that color is not an exact match to the 2014 Deluxe but it is pretty close. Can anyone provide any real world experience with this product? Is it in the 2013 color? If so, I don't think these would be close enough in my view.

Yea, but it's that trunk. I thought he was looking for experience with that trunk. The color IMO would be off too far to be considered a match on something as large as a trunk lid. On side covers no biggie, but a trunk lid would be noticable imo.

I agree, an object the size of a top box would be a problem if the colour were too different.

Will866, open up your Samurider link and enlarge the photo of the DLX with the box installed. You can barely see a color difference. I purchased this kit from him last year for my DLX and the paint job is flawless... the kit is typical Honda quality. This rack and box kit was new for 2014 and the rack includes two sets of hardware, a set for 2014 models and a set for 2010 -2013 models. The previous discontinued top box had a different shape and the mounting system only worked on the previous rack that had round cross bars instead of flat, so it does not fit 2014 models. Since the new box was designed to work with the updated 2014 models and the previous models, it looks to me like Honda made the red a shade between the 13 red and 14 red, but much closer to the 14 red... I'm picky and I don't notice the difference. Samurider has fast delivery and knows how to package items to prevent damage!!

Sounds like you are a big fan. Thanks for the long explanation. I'm almost convinced but still nervous. The shipping is soooooo expensive too.
