Pulled this off the Cycle World web site. A good read on a great motorcycle.

That really is a nice bike. I saw this article somewhere else not long ago, and found a few of them for sale. IIRC, prices were $2-5k. Not bad for a bike that will undoubtedly appreciate.

He's such a classic. The collections of some of his columns "Leanings" and "Leanings 2" are must reads. In fact, I can lay the blame (or credit) on Mr Egan for having 7 or more bikes in my garage at once with full spousal permission. Those days have past, and I'm back down to only four bikes currently, but Mr Egan's magic remains. I suspect much of what he said about how the GB500 looked and felt at the time will be similar to our reflections on the CB1100 in 20 years.

So now I have to start perusing Craigslist again just when I thought my bike hunting days were over.

Egan is an entertaining writer. I miss seeing his monthly column in Cycle World. If anything could persuade me to buy a second bike, the GB500 would do it. I think it's a thing of beauty.

Love Egans writings, but then I'm the right age to remember all the things he writes about.
