Holy crap 150 brake horse power and 20,000 rpms out of an oval pistoned 8 valves per cylinder 250 twin that had to weigh nothing. Astonishing.

Honda has always had great pride in and will spare no expense if they decide they want to dominate a motorsport either car or motorcycle. It is truly amazing what they can do with metal.

LOL l doubt a twin sounded like a 6, but that RC was an amazing piece of machinery. I love how the tach needle bounced up to 18,000 rpms in a heartbeat. Saw a picture once of the internals of one of those and the valves were miniscule. Honda built amazing racing motorcycles.
It's funny..you see the guy feeling the motor fins to see when it's up to temp? I do that before putting it in gear to take off. Just want to make sure the motor is properly warmed up. Old racing habit.

for Mickey, here the rc166 engine is disassembled and viewed. not in English but at least internals of the engine are seen
