2002 BMW K1200LT Need Input from Beemer Owners - CIP57_imp - 11-05-2014 I've been looking for a tourer and found this one in my back yard. Has anyone owned a similar BMW or have knowledge of this inline four banger. I have never owned a BMW, this bike is real clean. I'm going down to look at it today and will set up a test ride if the seat height and position feels right. Edit: Appears to be damage on the rear brake pedal as we'll as the plastic or rubber fairing guard. Maybe its just the pic but if someone does not take the time to replace that i wonder what else is going on ![]() http://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2002-BMW-K1200LT-112707829 RE: 2002 BMW K1200LT Need Input from Beemer Owners - Django - 11-05-2014 The engine of the K1200 is the last version of this K modell (flying brick) and is the best one, very well matured. I think, the 2002 model already has this integral ABS break system with break assistant. Then, it's very important, that all services have been done, changing the break liquid. There is special equipment necessary, to do this. The earlier K1200 models are known, for getting problems with the clutch (oiled) at about 60.000 km mileage. These Ks have a dry clutch between separated engine and transmission, like a car. Beside this, the K1200 is a very reliable motorcycle, which can easily do many more than 100.000 km. However, I personally do not like the K1200LT, because it's to bulky. I would prefer a RS or GT. You can get valuable information about the flying brick at http://www.flyingbrick.de/board/index.php?page=portal There is also a English language section. I had a K1100RS for the last 19 years, 127.000 km.
