Yep, I went BLUE, bought a Yamaha WR250R.
Ever since I sold my Honda XR400 I've been wanting another dual sport bike.
The Yamaha WR250R ticked off all the right boxes for me.
Why you ask did I not buy the Honda CRF250L? In my opinion the CRF250L is a camp ground bike. The Yamaha WR250R is much more dirt ready than the Honda.
I ride 90% dirt, 10% street, so getting the most dirt worthy dual sport bike was my goal.

Good on you, TINK. Look forward to photos and reports.

That makes perfect sense. The CRf is a good trail bike for manicured trails. I think Ole did a seat time report back in 2013 where he dual sported all over Colorado on one, but stuck to fire roads. The WR will no doubt go where the CRF won't or probably shouldn't.

Congrats!

I would have bought the WR too.

Hullo, WRXer. Welcome. Why not head over to the New Members section and introduce yourself?

Congrats TINK...looks like you're wasting no time in adding the goodies to the new bike.

I have a couple friends who have the same bike and they absolutely love it. Looking forward to your review of it...

Interesting list of mods. Looking at pics of you riding I always thought you were a 6'+ guy, yet you are modding lowering link and a low seat?

I am 6'2" and 200+ lbs.

I know from experience that a tall trail bike is not your friend when you're picking your way through the "HARD WAY" course on a ride.

I'm not going to need all 10+ inches of suspension. I'm 63 years old, for crying out loud, my days of jumping table tops at the local MX track are way over. Biker

Tink you have 10 big ones on me but I fell the same way. I
n High school I put a jillion miles on an old DT250 and prior to that a 67 305 scrambler. Those were my fondest motorcycle memories
