Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - memphismike_imp - 01-23-2018 RE: Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - the Ferret - 01-23-2018 Hey people were just asking what happened to you. Good to know you are still around. You should come to the rally in Kentucky in June. RE: Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - emptysea - 01-23-2018 Ferret was one of the three that were asking about you, Mike. I was the other one. OK, so there were only 2 -- thought 3 sounded more significant. ![]() Cool vid, too. Thanks for posting it. I think we should ride together sometime. RE: Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - Ulvetanna_imp - 01-23-2018 That bike is so BIG. It's inconceivable to me to even consider something that ponderous. The CB1100 is as big as I would go, that's my limit. Between that and the new Yamaha, and BMW's 1600, there are some fantastic touring bikes out there. Think maybe I'll plan a tour on my Wolf Classic 150. At least I can kick start it if the battery dies. ![]() [url=https://www.ridersdomain.com/magazine/motorcycle-features/2018-honda-gold-wing-tour-first-test-part-1/]Rider's Domain's Adam Waheed has a pretty good write-up on the new Wing. Good grief the way you guys ride those aircraft carriers scares the crap out of me. Rather drag my knee at 100 mph in Turn 2 over to Willow Springs. Wow. Honestly it is a style of riding about which I know absolutely nothing. Terrifying! Absolutely contrary to all my instincts. And Heaven forbid one gets offline at any point. The precision necessary is just astonishing. RE: Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - emptysea - 01-23-2018 I think there was a compliment or two within the last post...sort of like the compliment that's in "Hey, your wife dances pretty well for someone her size" LOL RE: Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - use2b_imp - 01-23-2018 bet the new wing would be even better , at least he wasn't this guy RE: Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - Nortoon_imp - 01-23-2018 (01-23-2018, 12:15 PM)Ulvetanna_imp Wrote: That bike is so BIG. It's inconceivable to me to even consider something that ponderous. Now that is my kind of road: hilly, curvy, scenic, and empty. The Goldwing has a very low center of gravity because the fuel tank is actually under the seat, and the flat 6-cylinder engine is slung low in the frame. Add a silky smooth engine and transmission, and it is not hard to learn to sweep gracefully through the corners. Especially if you have a ride critic sitting in the back of the sofa. Guth's video looks just the same. RE: Wish I was on CB1100 on the Dragon!!!! - Guth_imp - 01-23-2018 Hey there memphismike, the audio quality in your video is amazing (nice video by the way). What is your setup (microphone type, how it's mounted, etc..)? (01-23-2018, 12:15 PM)Ulvetanna_imp Wrote: That bike is so BIG. It's inconceivable to me to even consider something that ponderous. Ulvetanna, you've got to explain yourself here as I really have no clue what you're talking about. |
