Rumors there will be a Honda Rebel 1000 based off the engine from the Africa Twin for 2019.

edit, i'm also interested in whether or not there would be a DCT model.

Hmm ... that's interesting ...

If it's over $10k who would buy ? The CB1000R would a lot more appealing

plenty of people are only shopping for a cruiser, and are not interested in the bigger, much heavier VTX series. the CB1000R is certainly better, but not if you're automatically turned off by anything that's not a cruiser. Also it's a very different engine with a very different performance profile compared to the inline 4 on the CB1000.

My wife, probably. She does not like the seating position on the CB1100, let alone the CB1000. I'd be a little concerned about the fuel capacity, but otherwise, this bike could be set up nicely for her to tour on. She has a CTX700 now and is looking at the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster as a replacement. She harasses the owner of our Honda dealership every time we're there about the fact that Honda does not have a bike that fits her ergonomic, displacement, and financial requirements.

At first glance I thought it was a redo of a 1984 Honda Magna V65. V-Twin vs. V-Four, I know...

Just saw this. Pretty cool. Lots of custom visual possibilities there, as well as a nice motor to play with.

I am happy to see motorcycles that look like motorcycles making a come back.
