r 1200 rs insurance - jitaylor_imp - 10-14-2018

Hi,

Does anyone have a late model BMW boxer 1200 they would mind sharing approximate insurance costs. I am calculating whether I can engineer purchase of one of these or not. Just ballpark is all I am after. I understand all the parameters that make insurance vary, but I figure most of the members here are a good proxy on how I ride/drive and for age and so forth. Just a SWAG is all I am looking for. If I ask my agent she is going to say "not another motorbike" or something like that. I should mention that I am in the U.S.

I have a '15 R1200RT and pay $46/year for $300k/$500k liability. I self-insure for comp and collision and imagine the premium for this coverage would cost about $600/year with a $1000 deductible.

I’m 66 with a clean driving record, and I have the multi bike policy from Progressive for my 2016 R1200R. Full coverage 100/300 and 1000 deductibles...$500 per year
