Looks good, but for a US market they would need highway pegs mounted to the valve covers.

also needs mirrors and turn signals and an air cleaner and reflectors and a tail light, and a speedometer and no way does that thing meet noise and emissions specs as shown

A bit steam punk'ish, but interesting enough. Like the shaft drive - not like there is no extra torque to spare. Definitely a toy probably to most. The lump looks challenging (?) to work on. Maybe BMW wants it that way?

what i've read about this thing is that it's a pure concept bike. it will get a LOT of modernization before it hits production lines, just as you suggested Ferret.

Though I would love to own one of these and convert it to a right-side hand shifter and foot clutch like so:

Yeah, but then it would be so heavy, Bond wouldn't have been able to jump it over a helicopter.

Watched the interview. Interesting discussion and somewhat funny how the BMW chief designer seemed to go out of his way when discussing cruisers not to mention the obvious competition, the MoCo (HD).
