Winter project - Retsel_imp - 11-15-2019
Been looking at these for a while. Pulled the trigger on one, 1974 CT90, that is well maintained and in pretty good condition. That said it is 45 years old, all original, and in storage for the past 16 years. I am planning to go through it over the winter and have it ready for the California Sierra Nevada trails in the spring.

Would love to have room and time for one of those. My first motorcycle memories are riding on the back of my uncle's Trail 110 when he did his shopping in what was downtown Santa Fe, NM in the mid '70s.
I would have been around seven years old, and that bike seemed huge.

Does it have the High and Low Gear Box? If so it is so fun to play with. Enjoy they are wonderful bikes.

Let me know if you need a set of points. I have some that my trail 90 didn’t need. Still in the package.
My project was about ten years ago. Bought the bike from a friend. He was the original owner.
I did some of the work and the local Honda store did a little. After they cleaned the carb, and replaced the original tires, I took it for a spin in their parking lot. Stuttered and stopped going up a hill. The 20-something mechanic said “I heard they were a piece of cuss bike when they were new. They don’t get better...you know?”
I left there pissed, and $300 poorer. I trailered the bike to the other Honda store in the next town. Same man owns both. He is a good friend of mine and long-time riding buddy. Told him what had happened at the other store. He looks at the bike on the trailer and says “Paul, did you mess with the bike before bringing it here.” “Nope”. He starts laughing and tells me the fuel lines (the two that include Reserve) are reversed and it is a simple fuel starvation issue. But he asks me to leave the bike with him for a week so he can completely go through it at no charge.
And...he made the mechanic call to apologize and treat me to a bottle of Gentleman Jack because he thought I should have been treated like a gentleman...not a geezer.
Everyone should own a Trail 90. They are true motorcycles!
