Evel Knieval Toy Motorcycle Jump - Stichill_imp - 09-21-2020

I never had one of these, or even knew anyone who had one, but my buddy did and he said it was his favorite toy of all time! Cool

That is tooooooo true to life. Somebody had one in my circle of friends, can't remember who.

My best friend got the Evel Knievel stunt cycle for Christmas one year. Maybe it was 1973. I think we were 8. That was the coolest toy ever. I really wanted one of my own, but my parents did not approve of Evel's lifestyle so that was never to be ;(

'70s pop culture was so lowbrow, lol (although contemporary '20s culture is giving it a run for its money). Evel Knievel was huge back then...everybody watched his jumps on TV, preceded by endless replays of his prior jumps & subsequent crashes.

Dude, I loved my Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle!

I also had The SSP Smash Up Derby set... look that one up.

Toys in the 70s were the coolest.

lol - that was fun.

I vaguely recall something like that in a TV commercial.

That video features the reproduction toy that is now being sold...

No asking how it is that I know about this. Big Grin Before anyone scoffs at the $40 price tag, realizee that some original examples from the 70's are now actually selling for well north of $500.

I had so many great toys when I was a kid. I also tended to take good care of most of my stuff even when young. So between the 1st year Hot Wheels, the Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle, the Big Jim Honda Elsinore, the Vertibird helicopter, the Billy Blastoff set and countless others, had I kept them all I likely could have traded them straight up for my CB1100 back when I bought it new, lol. (That's not even counting all of my baseball cards that I gave away to the neighbor kid down the street.)

But for me personally, the coolest toy of them all was the Eldon Top Eliminator Drag Strip that my uncle used to own back when I was a kid. It came complete with a little Christmas tree light setup that would even red light you if you jumped the gun. Awesome.
