Update on the 175 - Razor - 01-03-2024

Getting down to the finish line on this project. Started out as a frame hanging from the ceiling.
1971 Honda CB175. After some prodding from friends; painted the frame red vs the tradition black. Lots of custom touches.
Here’s a few photos.

Still need to finish the tank and headlight bezel. The exhausts are custom made. Kind of excited to hear them…. getting close!

That is beautiful, Ray. Wish I lived close enough to come to your workshop, but leaving Arizona to go to Michigan in Winter seems counter-intuitive. Have fun!

Looking good, Razor. My first bike was an earlier model CB175.

The bike has a lower stance (1 1/2”). Accomplished this with custom rear shocks and using an XL175 top triple tree. Frame was modified to fit the aftermarket tank. Exhaust was made with “megaphones” intend for cars. They were cut down a bit, and are only cosmetic. The internals have a 12” resonator and pipes leading rearward. Finished the ends by modifying a pair of 2”-3” exhaust adapters.

Wanted to have some vents on the front drum, but wasn’t sure what to use. Went to our local hardware store. Bob met me at the door “whatcha work’n on”. He promptly showed me some electrical box vents, stainless too. Perfect fit. Love the way it worked out.

Handlebars are from a CB400F. Seat has been narrowed and cut down (not sure about it, may redo it?). Turn signals are aftermarket. Choose to have the dual element bulbs up front as running lights.
Engine is pretty much stock. Kids gave me a Capellini oil filter/cooler which goes in place of the starter. Really unique piece.

Man, love it Ray. The intermediate steps looks soooo, ... organic.

Vents on the drum brakes makes so much sense. I reckon those hubs will never see rain?
